Worth the Hype? Wet n Wild Highlight in Boozy Brunch

December 7, 2017Reviews, , Standard

The hype around this product actually started a while ago and I totally missed out on the wave. The shade was originally released as part of a Fergie collection or collab with Wet N Wild. It was called Hollywood Blvd at the time but looked exactly the same as Boozy Brunch now. But as with a lot of things in the beauty influencer world, it was in the spotlight and now no one talks about it. So is Boozy Brunch worth the hype?

Looking at the pan of this product can be a little scary. Yes, it’s mainly a golden color but there are streaks of pink and brown. But all of the swatches still look golden. Even with testing this out, the only shade I ever got out of this was the golden one. The hype started with this product because it was very similar to cult favorites like MAC Whisper of Gilt, Laura Geller Gilded Honey, and Estee Lauder Heatwave. But this is a drugstore product. So you can get a very similar golden shade for just $6! When I swatch this with my finger, it does feel a tad chalky but luckily that chalk doesn’t translate anywhere else.

I mainly apply this product using a tapered highlighting brush. I think you could get away with using your finger as well, but it would require some blending. The application is super smooth with a brush and it has great pigment so you really don’t need to use a lot. This shade is a rich intense golden shade that really does pack a punch. It’s actually surprising because it doesn’t look like an intense metallic shade in the pan. But this is definitely a bold, almost metallic highlight that almost makes your cheek look wet. If you prefer subtle highlights, you will not like this at all. But there is no chunky glitter or anything! So it is a great option if you want an intense highlight without emphasizing texture or pores, this is a great affordable option!

Obviously by my comments you can tell that this is a product I would recommend. It’s a great golden shade that will be flattering on so many different skin tones. But you don’t have to break the bank to get it which is a huge plus! It does feel a little dry and chalky to the touch but application was smooth and the pigment is on point. And at the end of the day, isn’t that all that matters?!Follow my blog with Bloglovin
