I haven’t done a haul yet and I just got a package from Ulta! Part of it was just a restock of a product but some of it is new products that I decided to try. I hope you enjoy these types of posts- if you do, I’ll continue to do them!
The first product is one I’ve mentioned before on my blog and one that I’ve repurchased for several months. The only difference this time is that I decided to go with a lighter shade. I decided to go a little bit lighter and I now have some blonde highlights so I was hoping this would match my new hair color better. Online this shade looks like it’s darker than the dark & deep brown shade but that it definitely not the case. I’m glad I bit the bullet and ordered 2 of these because it’s the perfect match for my new spring/summer hair color. If you want to see how I use dry shampoo in my fine hair, check my quick tip here.
The next product I purchased based off of what seemed like endless raves about this product. This sponge is supposed to be a dupe for the beautyblender. But, as you may have realized by now sometimes products raved about by popular beauty gurus are not necessarily all they’re made out to be. I’m obsessed with beautyblenders but I have been curious about this sponge so I decided to give it a try. It’s half the price of the pink original beautyblender so it could be a great way to stay on budget. It has a different shape than the original beautyblender, with one end being pointed but the other being flat. I plan to do a full review on this product once I see if it truly lives up to the hype. It’ll be coming soon on the blog, I promise!
The rest of the products I picked up are all lip products. I have been so excited to try out fun spring lip colors that I went on a hunt. One of my friends was raving about the Tarte lip paints on Facebook so I decided to give it a try to see if her rave was worth it. I picked up the shade “So Fetch” which is described as a “pinky coral” which is pretty accurate. I really like this shade and am still putting this formula to the test. I’m obsessed with the idea of liquid lipsticks- I love long lasting products and hate running to the bathroom or pulling out a compact at my desk to try and touch up my lipstick! I’ve decided I’m going to do a full round-up of all of the liquid lipstick formulas that I own.
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor: 515- Coral Crush
I love liquid lipsticks, but affordable lipsticks are also fine by me! I’m still playing around with different shades and formulas for spring so I figured I’d play around without breaking the bank. I’ve heard great things about Maybelline’s formulas so I wanted to pick up some different colors. Coral Crush is a great spring color and is a true coral shade with maybe a hint of pink. This formula is in a satin finish which is great for days I don’t want the drying effect of a matte lipstick. This formula is creamy and pigmented while also being very moisturizing. There’s also a ton of shades to choose from so you’re bound to find a color you’ll love. I really do like this formula and the finish of this!
Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color: 687- All Fired Up
I wanted to find a more pinky shade because I am trying to find my favorite shades for this time of year! This shade is definitely more pink but not as red as I would have thought based on the name of this color. But I did want more of a pink than a red so this color was perfect! This formula is different than the last one I tried out. It’s their matte formula which is slightly drying but definitely not as bad as other formulas. It still glides on easily on the lips and the color payoff is nice and opaque. I would describe this shade as a pinky coral with a hint of red. This formula lasts a little longer on the lips than the satin finish version.
So that’s my latest Ulta haul! I’ve been trying to be good for the past couple months and only pick up items that I absolutely need. This haul was a stray from the norm. This may have been the purchase that opened up Pandora’s box because now I can’t stop checking out new products!
