When I first saw the sneak peek for this month’s bag, I was beyond stoked! There were brands I’ve heard of before mixed with new brands but they were all products that I was willing to try. This month’s theme was “Black Magic” and the bag was a super cute light pink with cute ghosts, cats, and other Halloween things all over the bag. So cute! Let’s try to keep this short and sweet- here’s what I got:

Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil

I’ve never tried anything from this brand, but I’ve heard so much about it. I’ve heard mostly of their dewy skin mist
spray that Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist uses whenever she gets her makeup done. I think that is how this brand sort of exploded on social media. It’s a pretty high-end brand so seeing this in my bag was super exciting because it’s nothing I would go and buy on a whim. I tried this oil both as a normal cleanser and as a makeup remover/cleanser in one and both actually worked pretty well! I think I prefer to remove my makeup with a wipe and then go in and use this as a cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling clean but not dried out. Plus there’s no weird oily feeling or residue leftover after you wash everything off!

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation

I love MUFE products and the old formulation of this product is the foundation I wore on my wedding day. This product is definitely best known for looking amazing in photos which is exactly why I picked it up specifically for my wedding. I haven’t tried the new formula so this sample was perfect to test everything out. The shade is way too light from what I would get in a store but I made it work by blending and adding some bronzer. I would say this is medium coverage but buildable. It has a runny consistency and this new formula I think has a slightly different finish than the original. It could just be my skin, but this new formula is a little more dewy. I definitely have to set it with a mattifying powder in order to get it to last all day and I’m not sure how this would hold up against humidity. You would definitely need to choose primers and setting products carefully. Overall, I do love this brand and may try this in my actual shade!

Inspr Duo Brown Powder in Dark Brown

Lately, I’ve just been using the L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper to quickly run through my brows while I get ready for work. When I actually sit down to do them, I usually go through with some sort of pencil either from Anastasia or the new Benefit line. I’ve seen tutorials using brow powders but have actually never tried it. I really like this duo because it has a lighter shade I can use towards the front end of my brow but I can use the darker shade to carve out the edges of my brow and the tail. I’m not sure I’m a total convert because I do think it takes longer than my pencil would but I’m not totally against trying different products. I would hope that this comes in different shades though because there is no way this would work for someone with lighter or auburn hair. If you’re brunette or have dark/black hair, this will totally work for you!

Lovely Sarah Jessica Parker Rollerball

Usually I hate getting perfume samples but this one is a full size (I think) rollerball which I prefer to get over the normal mini plastic tubes they send as samples. I had no idea Sarah Jessica Parker had her own perfumes, but I was excited to try out this scent. Rollerballs are super convenient because they’re super easy to throw in your purse or suitcase and use on the go or while you travel. I do like this scent even though it is a little different than what I would normally pick out. I am actually terrible at describing notes and scents so I’ll just tell you what they’re listed as on ipsy’s website. This perfume has top notes of mandarin, bergamot and rosewood with hints of patchouli, cedarwood, white amber, and orchid.

Teeez Cosmetics Eve’s Ready to Wear Lipstick in Romantic Red

Last but not least, I need another red lipstick like I need a hole in the head. BUT, that won’t stop me from trying different formulas and reds with different undertones! The packaging of this is just the freaking cutest with the design and the gold detail. This is definitely more of a blue-red which is great for the holidays and awesome for making your teeth look whiter! The formula is really nice and moisturizing on the lips but the finish is more of a natural satin. It is pretty long lasting for a normal lipstick and not a liquid lip formula, but I did notice some feathering throughout the day even with lip liner. I can see myself still using this because the formula is so comfortable and so moisturizing.

So all in all, this was a great month for my ipsy! It’s going to make it hard next month because I’m not sure how it could get better. Did you love your bag this month as much as I did?! What did you get? Let me know below!
