Turning into a Bag Lady: Ipsy November 2017
Normally I post about my ipsy bag much later in the month. I really try to make sure I’m testing out the products I get in multiple ways. And I think first impressions of a product can be deceiving! But ipsy must really be loving me lately because this month’s products are great choices for me. So much so that I already have owned or tried quite a few of these, which is why my review is coming so early!
It Cosmetics CC Cream in Light
I’ve talked about this product a few times on my blog before. So if you’ve been following me for a while you already know that I’m a fan! This CC cream is filled with skin loving ingredients that don’t break out my sensitive skin. But the coverage on this is much better than any other BB or CC cream that I’ve tried! It blends out incredibly well, especially with a beauty sponge. The big bummer about this product is the shade range. It comes in 7 shades which actually is better than I thought originally. But it still can be tricky to match your skintone and undertone. I do actually use the shade Light so this sample is spot on for me. It’s a little too light for me but I make it work with some bronzer!
Crown Brushes C141 Small Chisel Brush
So I actually have never tried a brush from Crown before but I have heard of them before. I think they’re supposed to be similar to Morphe in that they offer more affordable brushes. I was pretty excited to get this brush in particular because I’ve been playing around with different brush shapes for blush and contour. This brush looks like it could be pretty multifunctional and could work for both contouring your cheeks and for blush! There’s also a little indent in the brush which makes it super easy to hold and control. This brush is much more dense than I was expecting so that threw me off. But I love the shape for bronzing and contouring because it fits perfectly in the hollows of my cheekbone! And I feel like I use less product because this brush is denser. So far, so good!
Bang Beauty Lip Gloss in Spice
Gloss seems to be making a comeback lately which my dry lips can appreciate. I still love myself a matte lip but I have found that I don’t actually hate a glossy lip! This shade in Spice is a great pinky nude shade that I think will flatter many different skin tones. The wand on this is your standard doe foot so application is easy and comfortable. It also has a vanilla frosting smell that isn’t too overbearing or sweet. This gloss has great pigment and isn’t overly sticky. It reminds me of the trendier “cream” glosses that give some shine but also are smooth and pigmented on application. I really love the undertone in this gloss too. Most pinky nudes on me get washed out or pull too cool toned. But this one has the perfect amount of warmth that compliments my skin tone perfectly!
Josie Maran 100% Argan Oil
This is another product I’ve tried although I’ve never bought the full sized version. I’ve definitely gotten it as a sample maybe through an Ulta offer or something. I also have a deluxe size of this and their Light Argan Oil that my little sister gifted to me! I do think my skin really loves this oil but it packs a punch at the same time. But I try to only use it a few times a week because otherwise it can be too much moisture for my skin. And then I tend to breakout. But my skin is a little drier this time of year since I have combination skin. This oil really does help rejuvenate my skin and helps retain moisture. If you have dry skin, this could be a great oil for you to add into your routine!
Tarte 12 Hour Blush in Quirky
If you don’t know yet, I am totally obsessed with Tarte. I just relate so much to their brand and their products are all amazing. Plus they put such great ingredients into their products! Their blushes might be my favorite formula as far as the high end goes. This coral blush is a little more bold than I would normally go for but it’s still a great shade! Their blushes last a really long time on my skin without fading. I can’t say I’ve tested it for a full 12 hours though! This coral shade is super pigmented so you really just need the smallest amount on your cheeks. It’s the perfect mix of pink and peach and I feel like I can pair it with so many different looks. I’ve also been loving peachier eye shadows so this just pairs perfectly with that eye look!
Overall, this month was pretty great! I loved all the products I tried and even own some full sized versions of these products. If ipsy keeps this up, it’s going to be hard to resist these bags in the future. Hopefully all of my bags moving forward will be this great. What did you get in your bag this month? And if you want to try a free month of ipsy, I have a few free months that I can give away to friends!
