Thanksgiving MOTD

We did a belated holiday this year, but I still wanted to share the makeup I wore! I didn’t get a chance to take any pictures. We were the hosts so there wasn’t much time to get ready or snap pictures! So I just did a light makeup look while taking a bit of a coffee break. This could be a great look for work or for someone who doesn’t like wearing a lot of product.

Like I said, I wanted to keep the look pretty simple. I decided to go with the Maybelline Better Skin foundation since it has a natural finish and is quick and easy to blend. I used a beauty sponge because it’s the easiest for me when I want to move quickly. For concealer, I’ve been testing out the ColourPop No Filter Concealer. I applied that in the usual spots- down the bridge of the nose, a small stripe on the chin and forehead, and underneath the eyes. Then I set the concealer with a loose, translucent powder. You could also use a pressed or tinted powder if you prefer.

The eyes I kept ridiculously simple. I basically used 3-4 products and that was it. I grabbed a fluffy crease brush and applied the ColourPop Pressed Bronzer in Private Party. I’ve been testing it out and wanted to see how it worked as a shadow. I wanted to deepen it up a tad so I also used Bel Air with the same brush. I also mixed the two shades and applied it to my lower lash line with a pencil brush. I then lined my upper lid with the Urban Decay eyeliner in Smokeout which I think may have been a special shade created for a Sephora perk (Demolition or Whiskey look closest). Then I finished off the eyes with some Benefit Roller Lash Mascara on both the top and bottom lashes.

Finishing Touches

To finish everything off, I applied the same ColourPop bronzer under my cheekbones and along my forehead. Apparently I was on a ColourPop kick that day because I used quite a few of their products on my face. For my highlight, I took their SuperShock highlight in Lunch Money and applied much more than I would usually. I used my finger and tapped it on the tops of my cheekbones, above the peak of both eyebrows, and in the inner tear duct of my eyes. I then topped off the highlight on the inner corner of my eyes with the Balm’s Mary Lou-Manizer. And for my lip color, I went with Kat Von D’s Liquid Lipstick in Double Dare.

So that was my super simple and quick look for when we hosted my in-laws this past weekend. You could easily change out the lip colors or skip it altogether and I think it’d still look great! I also think you could change out the base product pretty easily as well depending on your preferences. Hopefully the next time I share my MOTD, I’ll remember to snap a quick picture!
