All About Lippies: 3 Fav Nude Lipsticks

April 1, 2017Product Lists, , , Standard

Today we start a new series on my blog all about the lips! I’ll break down my fav shades in different formulas. Nudes are a great go-to with heavy eye looks, which I’ve been doing more. But sadly, I don’t have too many options in my collection right now. I need more!

Tarte Double Duty Beauty Lip Sculptor in Basic

This lip might be the reason I started digging a nude lip to begin with. I always pictured super washed out nudes when I thought of the shade. This color made me realize that nudes has different undertones just like foundations! Swatched it looks more like a pinky nude but on my lips it doesn’t even look like I have on lip color. This lipstick is so creamy and pigmented! It glides onto the lips so nicely and it smells like vanilla cake! I also love that it’s double ended so if I want  more glossy look I can just use the gloss on the other end! It is bulkier than most lipsticks but because of the dual purpose, I don’t mind. I’m pretty sure these are exclusive to Ulta and retail for $24, which isn’t too bad if you consider the dual use of it.

L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Fairest Nude

This one is like a nude nude on me. I would say it’s a neutral undertone with mayyyybe a hint of pink? I do find myself reaching for it more and more though. I’ve been playing around with eyeshadow more and this is the most nude lip I have. I like putting different lip liners underneath or a gloss on top just to play around with the shade. It’s creamy and pigmented enough to be worn alone though! To me, this smells like grandma’s lipstick. It’s not strong or perfume-y, but it definitely smells like lipstick. They have tons and tons of shades but this one is my fav. They retail for $8.99 at Ulta but I’m pretty sure they’re cheaper elsewhere and stay on the lookout for sales! I always see BOGO 50% off at Ulta. These are a great drugstore lipstick formula in general- highly recommend!

Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick

Disclaimer: this one is a total cheat. It’s more like a MLBB (My Lips But Better) shade but I decided it counts. Plus, it’s the lipstick I wore on my wedding day so I couldn’t not mention it! It’s also cheating because I made this myself at the Lip Lab in NYC. It was part of my bachelorette party!  It’s definitely a pricey experience so I’m super appreciative for going there! You custom blend shades into a little recipe. Then they mix it up and put it into a mold. Then, you pick the packaging it goes into (shape of the cap) and even pick what scent! Pretty sure I picked Cherry Vanilla. They don’t make this formula anymore which makes me sad. But, I have heard their new Amuse Bouche is amazing too. Highly recommend for a girls’ outing for a special occasion!

Top to Bottom: Tarte’s Basic, Custom Bite Beauty, L’Oreal Fairest Nude

The one thing I wish I owned was a staple nude liquid lip. I haven’t found one with an undertone that I just love yet. And I know they’re prone to being the ones that flake off which scares me. I’d love some recommendations of a great nude liquid lip! But, for now- these are my fav nude lipsticks. Leave me new formulas and shades below (help me feed the addiction!
