Hue Review: Burts Bees Blush

January 4, 2018Reviews, Standard

If you missed my post a few weeks ago, then you might not know that I cashed in a ton of Ulta rewards points. So I now have some new products to try out! One of the brands I wanted to be sure to get a few things from was Burts Bees. I used to be obsessed with their balm and was definitely curious when they announced a makeup line. I heard it was sort of hit or miss, but there was one shade of the Burts Bees blush I couldn’t pass on!

Ok, background info first. I grabbed this blush at Ulta, but you can get it direct from their website as well. It retails for $10 which is a pretty standard drugstore price. But here’s where it gets sad. This blush only comes in 3 shades! I am really hoping this blush was just a test run since the whole line is new. So the shade range of these blushes is beyond pathetic. The packaging is cute and slim, and it looks like a honeycomb. Perfect for Burts Bees blush! I grabbed the shade Bare Peach because well, it has the word peach in it! And it’s described as a warm peach for fair to tan skin tones on the Ulta website. So how can a peach blush addict say no?!

It looked like the perfect shade online and even in the pan when I got it. I was nervous when I swatched it because it looked kinda glittery, which I don’t like. But when you apply it to the skin, it went on so smoothly. No patches and the pigmentation is perfect. There isn’t any worry for looking like a clown unless you seriously pack this on. I think there is a slight sheen to the cheeks, but nothing glittery or even that glowy. I prefer matte blushes but loved the finish of this too! It also wears beautifully. I didn’t notice any weird fading and it lasted over 12 hours on my cheeks. Even my husband could name the exact color of this blush 13.5 hours after I applied it!

I seriously wish they had more of a shade range because I really like this formula! The shade Bare Peach might just be my new favorite blush. It’ll go with so many looks. It isn’t shimmery or even super glowy on the cheeks. It’s like a healthy sheen that is just so flattering. So PLEASE Burts Bees- release new shades!
