February Favorites

I seriously cannot believe tomorrow will be March! Our winter here has been so mild (knock on wood) and we’ve really only had 1 decent snowfall. I hate driving in the snow, so this winter has been so good to me! We’ve barely had a winter, but I am already excited for Spring trends and weather. In the meantime, here’s my February obsessions:

NYX Lip Liner in Nude Pink

I’ve been getting a tad more adventurous with my eyeshadow lately, so I’ve been trying to go more natural on the lips. This lip liner from NYX is the perfect shade to match my lips almost identically. This formula glides onto my lips and is nice and creamy. If I wear it alone, it does feel a tad drying after a while but the staying power makes up for that. Since it’s so neutral, it’s also great as a base for nude lips. I also love to use this with bolder shades for those days I want to do a little less. It tones down the shade just enough! Such a versatile lip liner for me.

Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Shade 13

I am crazy obsessed with the lip stain that I have in 01 and since I’ve been trying to go more neutral with my lips, this shade has been perfect! On Sephora’s website, they call this shade Blackberry Sorbet but for some reason the names aren’t on the packaging. This shade is a great berry shade that was part of the collection before they released new shades. This shade is neutral enough for me that I’m ok with pairing it with the bolder eye looks I’ve been trying lately. I’ll wear this on its own or pair it with the NYX lip liner underneath to tone it down. I may do a full review on this product line later on, but I love how the formula is not super drying. It’s also pretty long lasting as long as you don’t eat anything oily.

Makeup Forever HD Foundation in 125 Sand

This is an oldie but a goodie for me. I’ve been rediscovering this foundation this month in a big way! My skin has been all over the place- a little oily, combination, a little dry, normal. Just like the weather, my skin can’t decide what to do! This foundation is a great staple for me because I can make it work no matter how my skin is feeling. If it’s oily, I can top this off with some powder and blot if needed. If I’m dry, I’ll only set my concealer and let the moisture help the dryness. I’ve had this one for a while now and it is a little too dark for me but I don’t want to give it up. It’s going to be a hard decision as to whether or not to get their new Ultra HD formula.

ColourPop Pressed Powder Eyeshadows

I did a full review on these eyeshadows recently, so the fact that it made it into a favorites shouldn’t be a surprise. These babies might be my new obsession. I don’t know if I lucked out with the shades I chose, but this formula is incredible. Confession: I was staring at my eyes today because everything was so perfectly blended. I only used 3 shades and only spent like 10 minutes on my eyes. Yet the blended effect looked Instagram worthy. Too bad I’m still mastering the makeup selfie! The shimmers are good for a more subtle sheen, but definitely don’t pack the same punch as a Super Shock Shadow. I am totally picking up more neutral matte shades though!

Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Eyeliner in Nude

I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned this product before! In fact, I’m not even sure that I hauled it. But, like I said in my Adele post, I have been loving that “doe-eyed” eye look. Instead of smoking out that lower lash line, I open it up by adding this nude liner in the waterline. This eyeliner lasts so freaking long in my waterline, it’s awesome! I love the awake, open-eyed effect that it gives my eyes. It’s so creamy and I’ve never been irritated using this liner. As if those weren’t enough of perks, this is super affordable! I picked mine up at Target for $4. It also comes in black and brown, which I may pick up since these stay on the waterline perfectly!

Those are my favorites for February! Hopefully March doesn’t come in too much like a lion. I would prefer just lambs for March. Also, does anyone outside of PA use that saying? March comes in like a lion, out like a lamb. Hopefully you all get what I’m saying and don’t think I’m nuts!
