Favorite Fall Trends

October 18, 2016Favorites, Standard

Sorry I’ve been MIA lately! I decided to take a mini-break because I haven’t been motivated to write so I didn’t really want to force it. I did want to go over some new fall trends I’ve been seeing everywhere. Obviously we’re just talking about makeup here so you can do whatever you want, but here are trends popping up on runways and magazines this season:

Copper Eyeshadow

Yesssssssss. This is probably my favorite trend for this season. Warmer shades like maroons and cranberries are normally on trend for the fall season so you could totally still rock that sunset smokey eye. Copper is a warm toned shade but I just love that metallics and glitter are in this season! This shade will really make all eye colors pop and there’s so many fun things you can do with coppers. Of course, the full on smokey eye is a possibility but you could even just put a penny copper shade on the lid with mascara and optional eyeliner for an easy daytime appropriate way to pull off this trend. In looking at my collection, ColourPop’s Kathleenlights is probably the closest thing I have to a copper but I recently discovered Game Face which is a true penny copper. That one is definitely on my list now because I just know it will be an it color for this season and beyond!

Bold Vampy Lips

This trend is probably not surprising at all because it seems to always pop up every year around this time. The shades that are most popular vary from year to year but there is not much I love more in the fall than a simple eye look and a dramatic lip. Last year it was all about the mauve-y nude like Kat Von D’s Lolita but this year I’ve been seeing much darker shades. Like shades that look more black than berry or red. Think black cherry or oxblood. I’ll have to look through my collection to see if I have anything close to this dramatic of a shade but something like NARS Velvet Matte Pencil in Train Bleu or Bite Beauty’s Amuse Bouche lipstick in Rouge Berry will definitely be on trend this season! For a more affordable option, check out ColourPop! My two favorites for this trend are the Ultra Satin Lip in Hutch and the Lippie Stix in Dukes. Remember you don’t have to splurge on a high-end item for trends unless you really want to- there are tons of affordable options that will give you the look for less! I will definitely try this trend this season- I just remembered I have Ofra’s Mina which could do the trick with a deep liner underneath.

Graphic Liner

This is the one trend I’m not sure I’ll be rocking this Fall. I was going to choose a different trend to talk about but it seems like this trend is everywhere so I figured I just had to include it! I struggle with a normal winged liner so something super dramatic like graphic liner intimidates me a little bit. Although, it should be easier to do a super thick liner and that could be graphic, right? Anyways, feel free to get creative and dramatic with your liquid liner this season because graphic liner is all over the runway right now! My favorite might have to be the double wing though- just take some black liquid liner and wing out both the top and bottom lash line. It gives that awesome edgy look without being too dramatic. Another super pretty graphic liner is the intense cat eye where you extend both the inner and outer corner. I know I always say it’s just makeup and you can do anything you want but I just don’t think I’m edgy enough to pull off this trend for the Fall.

Those are the top 3 trends I’ve seen in all the magazines and on all of the runways. Obviously this is not an exhaustive list but these are ones I’ve seen pop up the most. I’m actually pretty excited about the trends this season because I feel like I can pull most of them off! What about you? Which trends are you most excited to try- or are you going to set your own?! 😉
