Easy Back to School Makeup

Fall is definitely in the air where I am in PA. And my husband went back to teaching 4th grade and I know college classes have started for most too. So I decided I would put together an easy back to school makeup look. And pretty quickly too! Of course you can add and subtract steps based on your comfort level.

Base

I would start with a primer, so you don’t have to worry about touching up between classes. My current drugstore fav is the NYX Angel Veil. Then, grab yourself a beauty sponge for a quick application of foundation and concealer! My foundation suggestion I would go with Maybelline Matte + Poreless. After that’s blended, apply a concealer with a natural finish. My drugstore fav is probably the Maybelline Better Skin Concealer, but the Sephora Bright Future Concealer is also great. And it doesn’t cost that much more. Apply concealer under the eyes in a triangle shape, and even out the brightness with a stripe down the bridge of your nose. I take the excess on my sponge and dab it on the center of my forehead and chin as well. Set the concealer with a powder (RCMA No Color Powder is obvi my fav), and you’re basically good to go!

Eyes

For the eyes, keep it simple. You can totally rock a smokey eye for formal or prom, but at 8am? We’re just focused on looking out together! I’d throw some bronzer in the crease with a fluffy brush. My fav from the drugstore is the Physicans Formula Butter Bronzer. If you’re an eyeliner girl, just line the top lash line. I can apply the L’Oreal Smoldering Eyeliner in a flash, so that’d be my go-to. For mascara, this is the one place I’d recommend something not from the drugstore. I love the separation and length that the Benefit Roller Lash gives. It’s my fav for simple looks and you can get away with skipping the lash curler! You can get the travel size if you’re on a budget. Or if you know of a good alternative, let me know below!

Finishing Touches

The rest of this is pretty optional, but I like to give added color and definition to my face. Use the same bronzer that you used on the eyes. Apply bronzer to the very top edge of the forehead and to the hollows of your cheekbones. You can apply blush but I would probably skip it to save time. I’d probably also skip highlight but if I was in the glowy mood I would pop some Essence Pure Nude to the tops of the cheekbones. For the lips you can really do whatever you want! You can be trendy and pop on a vampy or mauve lip. Or keep it simple and just pop on Chapstick. I might opt for something like the L’Oreal Glossy Balm in Lovely Mocha. A hint of color and shine but overall pretty low maintenance.

So that’s it! Easy right? I know it’s a lot of products but once you do it a few times, you can complete it all in a flash! And I tried to make sure that all of these products were at an affordable price point! Because high school jobs don’t pay well and college textbooks are expensive. Like I said before, you can add and subtract steps based on your preferences. But if I were into makeup in high school (and YouTube tutorials existed), this is totally what I’d rock!
