Best of the Best: BB/CC Creams
For those of you out there that are more interested in lightweight feeling products, I would highly recommend looking into BB or CC creams. They’re packed with skin loving ingredients and usually have the added perk of SPF. I think they’re great for everyday use or for days you just want a little coverage to even everything out. I wanted to break down 3 of my favorite formulas for those of you who don’t want to do the most:
Pur-Lisse BB Cream
There’s only 5 shades to in this range so the pickin’ is slim. I have the shade Light from an ipsy bag but I think I would want to try Medium instead. For a BB cream, this has pretty great coverage. Definitely not full, but pretty close to medium and it is buildable. I definitely prefer a beauty sponge to apply this- the kabuki brush I used made it streaky at first. It sits on the skin nicely and it’s been lasting on my skin throughout the entire work day. It pairs better with lighter coverage concealers though. Layering a full coverage concealer on top made the area around my nose a little cakey by the end of the day. Oh and I did get compliments on my skin (not my makeup!) while wearing this so I need the full size stat.
It Cosmetics CC Cream
The biggest concern I had from the start was if this would be good for my skin. I have combination skin, but it can be sensitive as I have eczema. Usually it’s pretty well controlled but I have broken out in little bumps from other super hydrating products. I have the shade Light and it isn’t a great match for me but it’s the closest shade they have. The coverage on this is amazing though! It’s basically the same coverage as a medium foundation but with a lightweight feel. And the finish is so nice because it just looks like my skin! It does contain SPF which is great and it’s packed with other great ingredients but it doesn’t smell weird or feel greasy throughout the day. It wears really well without slipping around as long as you set it with powder!
I have been trying out a few other formulas as well to try and recommend a third product, but I honestly still haven’t been able to find one! I really wanted to be able to find a hidden gem at the drugstore, but it just hasn’t happened. Smashbox has cult favorite BB and CC creams, but they always break up on me and I feel like a grease monster by the end of the day. But these 2 from It Cosmetics and Pur-lisse are the best I’ve tried!
